My experience in adult learning and education
I enjoy creative facilitating, coaching, and re-imagining personal and organisational programmes. Over the last 20 years I've had the privilege of working with groups and organizations at varying levels where curiosity and a sense of humour have been useful. The Adult Learning Forum has provided great learning, opportunities for making positive change in the sector and lasting friendships. A diverse background ranging from the financial sector to non-profit women’s development, art and craft, education and training organisations has provided a wide range of experience in adult education and the non-profit sector. All the workshops I developed and facilitated were based on exploring and respecting our connectedness and relationship to one another, sentient beings and our environment. It was a real pleasure working with creative non-profits developing and facilitating financial literacy modules around craft making for youth and adults which were used for the then MAPPPSETA courses. Some of the workshops I’ve developed were used with youth and trainers in Johannesburg around issues of identity, power and culture. They included a making component and creating journals written and or drawn by the participants. Transformational Coaching and mentoring have been part of my life in different forms for many years and I have seen the incredible growth and positive action that is ignited when it is incorporated into community spaces.
