The platform embraces the inclusive continuum of education, recognising that when we teach, we explore, discover and learn ourselves. Lifelong learning is for all: educators and students alike.

Collaboration is the very oxygen of learning, teaching and engagement. So, MOJA offers interactive platforms (blogs, chat rooms and other engagement features) that make it easy to collaborate and participate.

“MOJA” is the Swahili word for “one”. The word is rich in meaning and resonance, drawing on the power of unity. Adult learning and education advance through partnership, knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Building a professional network is central to MOJA’s objectives. Networks build strength and resilience. They maximise impact. They foster co-construction of knowledge for development and capacity building. And they embed a spirit of solidarity and unity.

Lifelong learning and adult education have the potential to drive people, families, communities and nations forward. They open avenues of possibility, give people better and more opportunities, improve quality of life, grow economies and open the door to a better, brighter, more prosperous future.

MOJA was founded out of the need for adult educators in Africa to have a forum where their collective insights, experiences, resources and wisdom are pooled so that adult education and learning may be advanced.

All content on the MOJA platform is freely accessible to everybody. However, the “community” feature is only for adult learning and education professionals and practitioners working in Africa.

Community members use the platform to profile themselves and their organisations, to contribute and share their insights, to connect with others and to share news about their events.
