I am delighted to invite you to read the tremendous tributes to the late Fred Kisirikko Lukabwe. This remarkable champion of inclusive development left a mark on Uganda’s adult learning and education (ALE) landscape. The country’s ALE fraternity will always remember and pursue his equity and disability inclusion ideals. Driven by profound social justice principles and values in his more than 50-year career, Fred transcended typical community development work. He rose to become a profound social activist and a passionate campaigner of culture and local languages as instruments for meaningful learning. I trust that reading this eulogy of 21 tributes by colleagues and relatives including his daughters and widow is a perfect choice especially now as we gear up to mark the 2024 International Literacy Day
