Nigeria National Council for Adult Education (NNCAE)
Visit WebsiteThe NNCAE was formed in 1972 as an umbrella organization for all Adult Education Academics and Practitioners. It serves its mandate through advocacy, mentoring, publication, conferences and research. Since it's establishment it has achieved numerous goals such as advocating for the creation of a department of Adult Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, the establishment of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, the establishment of Non governmental Support for Literacy support services (NOGALLS), annual conferences and annual publication of conference proceedings and journals. Today the NNCAE has branches in all the 36 states of the federation and the Federal CapitalTerritory (FCT).
Aims and Objectives of the Organisation:
- To be a well organized platform of engagement for all Adult Education Academics and Practitioners in Nigeria.
- To contribute positively in the fight against illiteracy, poverty and ignorance among Nigerian vulnerable communities in a sustainable way.
